Our Next Guest Speaker
Wil Gonzalez, AIFD, has been a resident of Ukiah since 1993. A native San Franciscan, his move to the the Russian River area eventually led to a small job in at the Santa Rosa Flower Shop. Combining his love of gardening and his education in art floristry was a great fit. Keeping his knife and wits sharp by entering design competitions, he has won the Sun Valley Cup, Blue Ribbon in Canada's Tulipmania, and he is one of California's Top Ten Designers; 2008. He has been associated with Rainforest Fantasy since his move here and was inducted into the American Institute Of Floral Designers in 2008. This association has lead him to produce floral educational programs and numerous friendships around the world. One of those associations is with leading float builders, Fiesta Parade Floats, with an astounding winning rate of 8 out of 11 floats; receiving trophies including the coveted Sweepstakes Trophy for most Beautiful Float for 15 years in a row at the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, CA. Wil will share his experiences at the parade building site with us on April 13, 2010.
